Highlights of Accomplishments & Tasks Fulfilled in Scouting

  • As District Commissioner of Colombo raised the funds and reserves of the District by 500%. Obtained a land for a camp site and built a fully equipped Scout Training Centre
  • Elected to the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Scout Council in 1995 and has been re-elected and serving
  • Elected to the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Colombo District Branch in 1986 and conferred the Honorary District Commissioner of Colombo
  • Organising Commissioner of the Millennium Scout Camporee in 1999
  • Head of contingent of the largest Sri Lanka Scout contingent to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden
  • Has been a member of the organizing committee of the 4th, 5th, 6th,7th,8th & 9th National Jamborees in Sri Lanka
  • Organised many Leader Training camps and conducted sessions in skills development, personal dynamics, campfire courses, workshops both at National and International level
  • ATAS member #092 and ISGF member and has attended and organized many gatherings
  • Was instrumental in re-inaugurating the ISGF in Sri Lanka
  • President of the Sri Lanka Queen’s and President’s Scouts Guild from 2010-2012
  • Member of the SLSA Senior Management Team
  • Led a response team during the 2004 Tsunami catastrophe and built over 300 toilets in refugee camps for those displaced and 5 permanent houses
  • Chief Organiser of APR Scout Leaders Summit in Sri Lanka, 2014
  • Chief Organiser of Colombo Centenary International Scout Jamboree, 2014
  • Jamboree Advisor, Global Cultural Jamboree (Virtual) 2021
  • An Advisor to the 1st Global Scout Kitchen Jamboree and team of the 2nd GKSJ
  • Organized and moderated 10 Webinars on Better World Framework having over 3000 participants in 2020 and Speakers from WSC, WSB, APR and Specialist Panel
  • Conducted a webinar on Camp-Fires and Conducted a Virtual Camp-fire with over 5500 participants joining live and repeated similar webinar in 2021
  • Conducted the first ever Fully Virtual GSAT Audit for WOSM in Bhutan Scout Association in 2020
  • Successfully organized the First Global Cultural Jamboree (Virtual) from 16-18 July 2021 with over 22,000 registered participants from over 80 NSOs
  • Lead Sri Lanka Scout Association to reach 100,000 members in 2023
